Altar Guild, Flower Guild, & Openers

Altar Guild – Bev Simpson and Sandy Benson

Open to men, women, couples, and families, the altar guild is responsible for preparing the church and chapel for our worship services. This behind-the-scenes way of serving entails the care and placing of the vessels, linens, and hangings that grace the altar, lectern, and pulpit. This work may be done at your convenience on either Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Training and a ‘How To” manual are provided. Men and woman of all ages can participate in this ministry. No special skills are needed, and you only serve for one weekend each month. Since teams generally consist of four people, everyone’s “extra-curricular activities” can be accommodated on your assigned weekend.

Flower Guild

Do you enjoy arranging flowers, or would you like to learn how to do it? How about joining the Flower Guild? Working singly or in pairs, the members of the Flower Guild prepare floral arrangements for the altar in the chapel and the church. They are also available for weddings and funerals. At Christmas and Easter, everyone works together, and glorious creations emerge. This committee constantly says it has the most fun!

Openers – Pete Hartman

Are you an early riser? Then this job is for you! The openers arrive at church at 7:30 am on Sundays to open the doors of the chapel, the church, and the Sunday School rooms.
