ACTC

The mission of the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) is “reaching out to those in need with God’s love and provision.” As such, ACTC is a vital human service link to people in Central Baltimore County struggling to provide food for themselves and their families.

We here at Holy Comforter are proud to have been one of the founding members of ACTC and continue to be a strong supporter. Presently there are 50 congregations supporting ACTC, both with food and monetary donations.

In 2019, ACTC assisted 31,390 people and distributed 416,460 pounds of food. At Thanksgiving they distributed 2,444 bags of food.

Beside food, ACTC also provides vouchers for assistance with shelter, prescriptions, fuel, and clothing. They offer bag lunches for the homeless along with care bags with small toiletries. They provide assistance in obtaining a free ID, birth certificate and license replacement. January and July are Holy Comforter’s specifically assigned months for collecting food, although we continue to collect throughout the year.

The ACTC collection box is located immediately inside the parish hall on the left. If you prefer to send a check, please make it payable to ACTC and send it to 120 Pennsylvania Avenue, Towson, MD 21204.

Our church ambassador is Steffy Sabino.
