I am a native Baltimorean, grew up in the Towson area, and have lived in the city (Hampden) for about 30 years. My husband Joe is an attorney, and we have two felines named Sam and Gracie.
Before I was ordained in 2017, I worked in medical education, grant writing, publishing, and graphic design. Although I am a cradle Episcopalian (I grew up at Church of the Redeemer), ordination was never something I considered, until God surprised me and set me on this path, starting around 2011. I completed a Master’s in Spiritual and Pastoral Care from Loyola University Maryland, then went on to complete a year in Anglican Studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. I have served as Priest-in-Charge at St. Matthias Baltimore and as Day School Chaplain at St. John’s Ellicott City.
During the week, I am currently on staff part-time at Broadmead in Cockeysville, where I am re-establishing the volunteer program as well as spiritual and pastoral care offerings -- both of which went out of commission during the last two years of pandemic.
One thing that led me to Broadmead is a long-held sense that my calling is to work with mature adults. I’m always so interested in the richness of life experiences, and the desire at a certain stage in life to give back and to find meaning and purpose. I’m especially interested in providing support in times of life transition, and for families affected by dementia. I have specialized training in loss and grief support, and recently as an end-of-life doula.
When it’s safe to do so, Joe and I look forward to traveling again and when we need a change of scenery and some sea air, we head to our little getaway in Rehoboth.
