My husband Charlie and I came to Holy Comforter in 1997 when our daughter Laure invited us to attend, because she loved it. At the Cathedral in 2001, Bishop Raab received us as members of Holy Comforter. Since then, I have managed the Coffee Hour Committee, and in 2013 created coffee hour teams.I have been a member of the Flower Guild since 2009, served on the Stewardship Committee in 2010, and since 2011, have been a member and self -appointed scribe of the Fellowship Commission. I also worked on VBS last year and plan to continue helping with that ministry.
Married to the treasurer of Holy Comforter, we have two sons and one daughter. We eloped after high school and never had a church wedding, but I can't say that anymore. With some nudging from Chris+, we renewed our vows in 2012 on our 50th anniversary, complete with a bridal bouquet, a walk down the aisle, and the symbolic tying of the knot.
I worked in health care for 39 years in both patient care and in an administrative position. During 23 years at GBMC, I completed a business degree and was Manager of Non-invasive Cardiology Services. This was followed by 13 years part-time as office manager in a chiropractic office. Now retired, I pursue watercolor painting, make personalized greeting cards, research family genealogy, practice yoga and devote time to projects at Holy Comforter.
I am honored to serve on the Vestry in memory of my friend Pat Ash and hope to make a genuine contribution. Holy Comforter gives me a sense of purpose and has brought a lot of joy and many friends into my life.
