Did you know that someone in America needs blood every two seconds?

Did you know that only 38% of the U.S. population is eligible to donate?

Did you know that only 3% of the eligible Americans will actually donate?

CHC holds two successful blood drives each year, and we collect on average 30 units of blood each time. That means our donors save or sustain up to 180 people each year!

Are you considering the possibility of becoming a donor? But you have questions?

The most common blood donation question is "Will it hurt?" It may feel like a slight pinch or sting for just a second, but there is no pain during the donation. Although the actual donation itself only takes approximately seven to ten minutes, a donor should allow one hour for the entire process from registration to refreshments. The remainder of the day, a donor should drink extra fluids, avoid strenuous exercise, and avoid lifting heavy objects with the donation arm.
