Baptized, confirmed, ordained priest and married at St. Anne's in Annapolis, Jan comes to CHC with thirty-three years in ordained ministry. No matter what position she has held, chaplain, rector, vicar, or canon, Jan's mission has always been to help others find their best way possible to grow as disciples of our Lord. While Jan will be working only 1/3 time, she will be responsible for Formation for Children and Youth and assisting with the development of a third service.
Additionally, Jan will continue her work as Director of Episcopal Service Corps-Maryland.
Jan is married to Mark Gatza, an Episcopal priest currently serving as rector of Emmanuel Church in Bel Air, and together they are the proud parents of two young adults, Meg and John. When time permits in their busy schedules, they escape to Chincoteague, VA where they can enjoy bird watching, hiking, reading, and watching the sun rise and set and the waves crash on the beach.
